“Souls of Poets dead and gone,
What Elysium have ye known,
Happy field or mossy cavern,
Choicer than the Mermaid Tavern?”
Lines on the Mermaid Tavern
John Keats –1884
The Mermaid Tavern and Grille is another great local spot. One may say it is a “Greek” restaurant, but they have a pretty good assortment of menu items to please just about anyone.
The restaurant is adorned with mermaid art, from paintings, to sculpture, photographs and tapestries.
The microbrewery can also be seen from inside. Ask the wait staff what is currently available on tap.
The last time we visited we got the black pepper crusted ahi sandwich with wasabi mayo and buffalo chicken quesadilla. I also recommend their lamb gyro and Pacific fish burger.
The Mermaid Tavern and Grille is also a great place to hear live local music.
